Elden Ring Rune Calculator

How Many Runes Do You Need to Level Up?
Rune cost increases as your character level rises. The calculator does not use an average or a shortcut; it sums the exact cost of each individual level between your current and target level.

Calculate How Far Your Runes Can Take You
Rune Budget answers the reverse question: if you have a set amount of runes, what level can you reach from your current level?
Enter your starting level and available runes. The calculator counts whole levels until the next level costs more than you have left, then reports your reachable level and leftover runes.
How Elden Ring Leveling Works
Leveling is based on your current character level, not your starting class or stat spread. Raising any attribute by one point increases your character level by one.
The rune cost formula uses your current level to price the next attribute point. Starting class and stat spread do not change rune cost; they matter when you are planning where your Vigor, Dexterity, Intelligence and other points should go.
Rune cost formula
For current level L, the calculator uses x = max(0, (L - 11) × 0.02), then floor((x + 0.1) × (L + 81)^2) + 1. The result is rounded down, matching the in-game rune cost table.
Shadow of the Erdtree does not need a separate level calculator. The DLC uses the same character level system as the base game, so the rune cost calculation remains the same.

How many runes do I need to reach Level 150?
Enter your current level and set the target level to 150. For example, Level 80 to Level 150 costs 6,091,185 runes before subtracting any runes you already have. The calculator sums every level-up step rather than using an average estimate.
How many runes does each Elden Ring level cost?
Rune cost increases with your current character level. Use the per-level breakdown to see each step, such as 80 to 81, 81 to 82, and so on, with a running cumulative total for the selected range.
What is the maximum level in Elden Ring?
The maximum character level is 713, reached when all eight attributes are raised to 99. At Level 713 there is no next level cost, so the calculator stops there.
Can I calculate how many levels my runes can buy?
Yes. Switch to Rune Budget mode, enter your current level and available runes, and the calculator will show the highest whole level you can reach plus remaining runes. It does not count partial levels.
Does the calculator work for Shadow of the Erdtree?
Yes. Shadow of the Erdtree uses the same Elden Ring character level system as the base game. Scadutree Blessings affect DLC progression, but they do not change rune cost per character level.
